Self-Assessment deadline extended due to HMRC strike

31 January 2012

Are you one of the 2 million self-employed workers that have not yet filed your Self-Assessment Tax Return? If so, you now have an extra 2 days to file your return , due to an HMRC strike.

Thousands of officers are staging a 24 hour strike today, over a row argument about privatisation. As many workers leave it until the last minute to file their returns, an HMRC strike will affect workers who need help, as they will not be able to reach any of HMRC's advice helplines. Any worker who files their return, and pays any tax due on the 1st or 2nd February will not receive a penalty fine.

If you have been putting off filing your tax return, Hadden Business Solutions can help, for just £200*. Visit Hadden's website for more information, or contact us on 0845 620 9255.

*Price is exclusive of VAT, and applies to a basic tax return, pages TR1 to TR6. Hadden Business Solutions cannot guarantee that any tax returns requested now will be filed before the new 2nd February deadline, as you will need to sign paperwork to authorise the return to be filed on your behalf.
